Really promising start from Hoey imo. Figures might look a bit expensive but thought his control was leaps and bounds ahead of White even in his first game. They have to stick with him long term.

Might be worth trying Adair at the top of the order in ODIs but would never have considered it before the 2nd T20I.

Stirling, Balbirine and Tector are all a concern in terms of form.

I actually thought taking him off the first time was the wrong call. Him and McBrine were building pressure and he should have had a wicket caught at long on. Sure, SA could well have ridden out the pressure to then line him up, but it would have been a strong show of faith in the young man to keep him going. He still got thru his 10 overs tho, so bit of a moot point. I think everyone is pro R Adair now after the last T20. Will have to wait and see, a lot might depend on the form of the trio you mention!

Am I right to be worried about Tector?

Since the 2nd innings at Lord's, he has the sort of numbers that would see others dropped.

Would like to see Adair open

Hopefully he can put pressure on good bowlers in the powerplay

Leave Stirling, Balbarnie and Tector to build a sold base without too much scoreboard pressure and then let Campher, Tucker (his absence highlights how important he is) and Dockrell bat like it's a T20

Nah I don’t think so. Yes any drop in form is concerning but he’s a good player. He still played the shot of the day on Wednesday with a gorgeous on drive despite being out of nick. He’ll come around
