We were never going to be competitive in these odis. CI in their wisdom moved these 'home' games to a country where all our weaknessess are laid bare. On these pitches you absolutely need the 2 skills we don't have, pace and spin. The same with the batting, we can't out muscle a SA line up stacked with big hitters. Crazy decision playing in UAE
I would like to see changes, with the caveat that unless Tucker is fit, there are limited options
Batting Ross Adair to be given a chance to open, with less than 30 runs in 4 innings from Balbarnie and Stirling, he can hardly do much worse
Replace Doherty with Rock (would prefer Tucker, but that may not be an option)
The bowling worries me Hume Adair and Young are just about hitting 80mph, so appear to need conditions to be in their favour to bat, not sure that, after the T20's,Hand offers much of am argument to replace Hume except to see what he can do
As for the 2nd spinner, Hoey White and Humphries all make a claim but no one appears to stand out
Without McCarthy or Little's extra pace, and the worrying sight of Adair at 7, I would attempt to get 10 overs out of Campher and Dockrell
Little and McCarthy excluded, is there any signs of bowlers with genuine pace coming through?
